Green light for hedge end development

Deacon Design, working alongside Foreman Homes and HGP Architects have successfully secured detailed planning approval for the Phase II residential scheme at St Johns Road, Hedge End, near Southampton.

The scheme, which will comprise 106 new homes, will see the restoration of a wet woodland complete with boardwalks and viewing decks.

Resident Interaction

The newly created wetland combined with the SuDS strategy will create an attractive green swathe through the centre of the development. Newly formed water meadows and willow planting will enhance the site’s biodiversity and provide opportunities for residents to interact with the natural environment.

The landscape strategy enhances the ecology of the site, via new woodland paths, specimen trees and an enhanced buffer zone to the nearby motorway. The development will connect through to the Phase 1 development as part of wider strategic link and goes towards addressing Eastleigh’s current housing needs.

We are looking forward to supporting the next phase of design and construction which is due to commence in 2018.
